Mother kills new born baby

Barrackpore, Feb 27 (UNI) A mother allegedly killed her new born daughter nearly 36 hours after delivery in Dr B N Bose sub divisional hospital.

Police inquiry revealed that the 29-year-old mother who gave birth to her fourth daughter in a row, strangulated the baby to avoid future unpleasant consequences in the family.

Police registered a murder case in this connection but could not take the mother into custody as she was not released from the hospital.

The body of the victim was sent for post mortem, police said.
