Bongaon, Feb 26 (UNI) Villagers of Uttar Bagna under Gaighata assembly constituency have decided to boycott polling during the coming assembly elections in West Bengal demanding electricity and roads.

Nearly 400 voters live in North Bagna in North 24 Parganas which are yet to get electricity. Several banners were found in the village expressing public resentment and announcement of vote boycott.

Local Trinamool Congress MLA Jyotipriya Mullick said,''I appreciate the greviances of the inhabitants of North Bagna. Their demands are genuine''.

''I being a sitting MLA could not do much with my paltry area development fund which is inadequate to meet even the cost of roads needed for the village''said Mr Mullick.

He criticised the rural electrification department which is yet to reach this far-flung village to make provision for electricity.
