Two held for cheating Railways
Chennai, Feb 26 (UNI) The Railway Protection Force (RPF) today arrested a private travel agent and his manager in the city for allegedly cheating Railways by availing tariff concessions on tickets using forged documents showing passengers as cancer patients.
Acting on a tip off a RPF team raided the travel agent's premises yesterday and seized fake doctor certificates, rubber stamps and forged documents besides eight tickets to various destinations purchased at concession of 55 per cent.
Enquiries revealed the accused had been cheating the Railways in this manner for the past five years. RPF sourcecs identified the accused as Rashul (26), owner of the travel agency and his Manager Kareem (30).
