Two cubs found dead in Gir forests
Rajkot, Feb 26 (UNI) Two cubs - that of a leopard and lion - have been found dead in two different places of the Gir forests.
According to forest officials, a five-month old leopard cub was found severely injured in a farm of one Siddibhai at Garal village of Gir forest (east) yesterday.
Siddibhai had informed the forest officials about the cub, which was taken to the wildlife care centre in Jasadhar where it succumbed to injuries before being administered any treatment, they said.
Teeth marks of wild beasts were found on the cub's neck, the officials said.
In the second incident, a lion cub was killed and another one injured in an attack by a group of lions at Dedakadi range (west) near the tourist zone at the Sasan Gir, the officials said.
The injured cub had been shifted to Sasan animal care centre.
Bodies of the two cubs had been sent for postmortem.
