Three drown in river Krishna

Vijayawada, Feb 26 (UNI) Three people were drowned in two different places when they went to take bath in river Krishna on the occasion of 'mahashivarathri' today.

Police sources told UNI, three people ventured in the river, three km from Iluru at Thotlavaluru mandal in the district. However, two drowned and the bodies had been recovered.

The deceased were identified as G Surendra (23) and Kutumba Rao (24).

In the city, a 22-year-old youth, who went to Bhavanipuram ghat for taking a dip, drowned in the river.

The body was sent to University General Hospital for a post-mortem, the sources added.
