Kolkata, Feb 26 (UNI) The maiden exhibition of Mangesh Tendulkar's cartoons outside Maharashtra was inaugurated here by renowned film maker Mrinal Sen.
Mr Tendulkar's cartoons, all in colour, are non-political and captionless. They depict human nature and feeling.
''I use art as a refuge to express what I see, what I feel about relationships,'' said Mr Tendulkar, brother of stage personality Vijay Tendulkar.
Explaining his choice of Kolkata as the venue for his first exhibition outside his home state, the 70-year-old cartoonist said, ''Bengal is the cultural capital of India and so it was my first choice.'' UNI SG SK VP0415
