'Shivratri' celebrated with traditional gaiety in Goa

Panaji, Feb 26 (UNI) 'Shivratri' festival was celebrated with traditional gaiety and enthusiasm in Goa today.

Devotees thronged to various Lord Shiva temples in the morning having observed fast devoid of sleep last night and offered prayers, believing that they would be blessed by the God.

Prominent temples include Mangeshi temple complex, Harvalem and Pisurlim in North Goa and Tamidi Surla in South Goa.

Devotees also lined up at the Shiv mandir in the Mahalaxmi temple complex and participated in a special ceremony.
