Shivratri celebrated with great enthusiasm in Uttaranchal

Dehra Dun, Feb 26 (UNI) Shivratri was celebrated with great enthusiasm all over 'Devbhoomi' Uttaranchal today .

Shiv temples witnessed a large number of devotees queued up for 'jalabhisekh' everywhere. Fairs were also organised in different places like Dehra Dun, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Rishikesh and other remote villages all over the state.

Thousands of devotees thronged famous Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple situated in the picturesque background of Dehra Dun for 'Jalabhishek'on the occasion.

The temple, which in itself is a natural cave, has made the festival more auspicious and popular among the tourists. With the advent of Shivratri in Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple, a ten-day fair also started near temple premises. For the first time this year, the administration has given its nod to the ten-day fair.
