Police rescues kidnapped person

Ranchi, Feb 26 (UNI) After a fierce encounter police today resuced an abducted person from the clutches of CPI (Maoist) extremists in Jharkhand's Latehar district.

No one was injured in the encounter, police said.

The extremists had kidnapped one Lakhan Jaiswal from Chandowa this morning. Police imediately swung into action after receiving the information and rescued him after the encounter.

Police continued the search operation in the area to apprehend the extremists.
