Pilgrims take holy dip in Krishna River

Vijayawada, Feb 26 (UNI) Lakhs of pilgrims took a holy dip in several places on the banks of Krishna River here today on the auspicious occasion of 'Mahashivaratri'.

Since dawn, devotees queued up for darshan of Lord Shiva and offered special prayers at the Kanakadurga Temple and the Ramalingeswarar Temple atop the Yenamalakudur Hill. The police had a tough time in controlling the crowd.

The Krishna Region of APSRTC is plying about 250 buses from here to Srisailam and different parts of the district for the convenience of devotees.
