People throng Shiva Temples city and adjoining district

Mumbai, Feb 26 (UNI) Lakhs of devotees of lord Shiva thronged the centurian-old Shiv Temple at Ambernath in the adjoining Thane district and Babulnath Temple at south Mumbai to perform pooja on the auspicious occasion of 'Mahashivaratri' today.

Shiva Temples across the city and adjoining districts witnessed large number of devotees queued up since early today for 'jalabhisekh' every where.

Surrounding the Shiv Temple at Babulnath and Amernath fairs were also organised.

Shivaratri was celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety in the commercial captial of the country.

Other than Shiv temples in the metropolis has also made special arrangement in the mandir for the devotees to perfom pooja.
