Pakistan ship crew handed over to Coast Guard

Kochi, Feb 26 (UNI) The Pakistani ship, 'SAF marine Pakistan,' which was seized by the Lakshadweep police, was brought here for detailed investigations, sources said.

The nine crew members are now in the custody of the Coast Guard, Kochi Police Commissioner P Vijayan told UNI.

The captain of the ship and other crew members were taken into custody by Lakshadweep police for disembarking at the uninhabited Suhali island in the Union Territory.

A detailed interrogation would be done by the Intelligence Bureau and officials of the Research and Analysis Wing.

The vessel was on its way to Tuticorin port from Salala in Oman when it anchored near Suhali island.
