Northern Railway sets up clash with Jharkhand XI in final
Meerut, Feb 26 (UNI) Thanks to some excellent stick-wielding from Pritam Siwach, Northern Railway eves registered a comfortable 2-1 victory over Central Railway in the second semifinal of the All India Invitation Prizemoney women's hockey tournament here today.
Northern Railway drew the first blood in the 13th minute when Pritam Siwatch converted a penulty corner to make it 1-0. She further increased the lead for her team in the 34th minute and shook the board to make it 2-0.
After keeping the scoreline unchanged almost half of the second session Northern Railway received a shock when Usha converted a penulty corner to reduce the lead for Central Railway and make it 2-1.
But Northern Railway girls showed enough temperament to wear off the scare and win the match 2-1.
They will now face Jharkhand XI in the final. Jharkhand XI have thrashed Delhi XI 5-1 in the first semifinal yesterday.
