Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 26 (UNI) Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Ramesh Chennithala today said no serious discussion had taken place on the inclusion of the Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakran) into the United Democratic Front (UDF).
Talking to mediapersons here, he said the UDF had not authorised the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), the second largest party in the Front, to hold discussions with the DIC(K).
However, as a political party they have the right to hold meeting with that party in their individuval capacity. But a decision on the inclusion of the DIC(K) would be taken by the Front unanimously, he added.
On Mr Karunakaran's return to the Congress, Mr Ramesh said ''he is a senior leader and a decision on it should be taken by him.'' The KPCC chief, however, claimed that a huge political change would take place in the state after the scheduled full session of the Congress party at Kochi.
Replying to a question, the KPCC chief said as a political party the DIC(K) had full right to contest in all the 140 constitutencies in the state.
He said the KPCC would finalse the list of candidates for the ensusing Assembly elections by March seven.
On the basis of the final CAG report on the SNC-Lavalin scam, the guilty should be punished, Mr Chennithala said.
