Nano-electronics centre coming at IIT, Bombay
Mumbai, Feb 26 (UNI) Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) is setting up a centre of excellence in nano-electronics on its campus at Powai here to undertake state-of-the-art research in the electronic field.
Ramgopal Rao, the Chief Investigator for the proposed centre, today said the facilities created through the project will be available to researchers, scientists, engineers and users from other organisations, including academia, industry and government under 'Indian Nanoelectronics Users Programme.' Nano-electronics is an emerging area of electronics dealing with nanometer-sized devices used for electronic circuits and systems, he said. Nano-electronics is probably the most advanced of the nonatechnologies and products area stating to appear in the market utilising nano-electronic devices, Prof Rao added.
