Hyderabad-Karnataka region disappointed with Railway Budget

Gulbarga, Feb 26 (UNI) The Hyderabad-Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HKCCI) today expressed disappointment over the proposals made in the Railway Budget for the backward region.

In a statement here, Federation President Suresh Nandyal, and Secretary Umakant Nigudgi said that except for extension of the Bijapur-Yeshwantpur train up to Bagalkot, the Budget did not have anything new for the region. It had not conceded any of its demands including setting up of a divisional headquarters in Gulbarga and introducing an express service between Gulbarga and Bangalore.

He urged Railways Minister Lalu Prasad to consider the demands of the region before approving getting the Budget passed in Parliament.

The Bidar Chamber of Commerce and Industry also echoed the views of the HKCCI and said more funds should have been released for completion of the Bidar-Gulbarga railway line on time.
