Malayalam film-maker Pavithran passes away
Thrissur, Feb 26: Noted Malayalam Film director Pavithran today died at a private hospital here.
He was 54. Pavithran is survived by wife Kalamandalam Kshemawathi, a noted Mohiniyattam dancer, and two daughters.
Pavithran was undergoing treatment for liver disease for sometime.
He entered the film industry as the producer with 'Kabani Nadi Chuvannappol.' His first directorial venture was with 'Yaro Oral.' Later, he made a shift in filmmaking with 'Uppu' where he adopted the middle-stream cinema model. His later films were 'Uttaram' (1989), 'Bali' (1991) and 'Kuttappan Sakshi' (2000).
He also directed a few documentaries.
