Filipino marine chief removed over coup plot-sources
MANILA, Feb 26 (Reuters) The head of the Philippine marines has been relieved of his command over suspicion that he supported a coup attempt against President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, two senior military officials said today.
Major-General Renato Miranda, believed to be the most senior officer linked to the failed plot, was replaced by his deputy, said the officials, who declined to be named.
''There will be more changes in the coming days. Our investigation continues,'' one said.
