Daya Nayak, Padte to be produced in ACB court on March 1
Mumbai, Feb 26 (UNI) Suspended Police Sub-Inspector Daya Nayak and his associate Rajendra Padte, both presently under the ACB custody in a disproportionate assets case, will be produced before a special court on Wednesday on the expiry of their remand period.
Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths had registered a case on January 20 against Nayak, his wife Komal, associates P Manivelan and Padte under the Prevention of Corruption Act for acquiring assets worth over Rs 41 lakh ''by corrupt means.'' 'Encounter specialist' Nayak and Padte had surrendered before the ACB Court on February 20 on the directives of the Supreme Court.
Nayak's wife was granted anticipatory bail by the Bombay High Court.
Manivelan was earlier arrested by the ACB.
