Celebrated Khajuraho festival begins amid applause

Khajuraho, Feb 26 (UNI) The annual festival of dance started here against the famous backdrop of Khajuraho temples with scintillating peformance by renowned dancer, Sonal Mansingh.

The prestigious festival was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan yesterday.

The week-long programme will see performances by eminent dancers from across the country.

This year the festival is organised by the unit of Madhya Pradesh's Ustad Allaudin Khan Music and Cultaral Academy in collaboration with the state's tourism department.

The long-awaited event witnessed a large crowd to see the festival.

GAIL India Limited is sponsoring the programme to encourage the dying art forms.
