19 Colliery workers injured in accident

Talcher, Feb 26 (UNI) As many as 19 colliery workers were injured, four of them seriously, when the vehicle in which they were being shifted in the Ananta coalmine here overturned this morning.

Police said of the four seriously injured, two identified as Sridhar Pradhan and Basant Barik were shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar while Baikuntha Biswal and Padmanav Behera were rushed to S C B Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack.

The other injured workers who sustained minor injuries were admitted to the MCL central hospital here.

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited Director (Personnel) G D Gulab rushed to the hospital and supervised the treatment of the injured workers along with senior MCL officials.
