Women police take up task of guiding adolescent girls
Ramanathapuram, Feb 22 (UNI) Taking time off their routine work, women police in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu have taken up the job of educating adolescent girls, ''who ruin their own lives for the sake of 'love'.'' The women police, who are normally seen on the road sides for providing security to VIPs and regulating traffic, have been visiting villages in the district to launch awareness campaigns for teen aged girls.
Insisting that the girls should study upto plus two, they advised the girls not to fall prey to infatuations and ruin their career.
They also present them case studies of affected girls and educate them on the need to change their lifestyle.
The women police also conduct legal camps for the benefit of women with the help of lawyers and judges, Inspector of Police Vasantha said.
