U.S. stocks open lower before oil inventories data
NEW YORK, Feb 23 (Reuters) U.S. stocks opened lower on Thursday as investors awaited data on U.S. oil supplies, which could affect crude's price, a source of volatility for stocks.
The Dow Jones industrial average was down 13.74 points, or 0.12 per cent, at 11,123.43. The Standard&Poor's 500 Index was down 1.13 points, or 0.09 per cent, at 1,291.54. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 3.58 points, or 0.16 per cent, at 2,279.59.
