No confirmed case of avian influenza in humans: Health ministry

New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) The government today said 94 of the 95 human samples being tested for the avian influenza virus have been found to be negative while confirmatory tests are being carried on the one remaining sample.

Categorically denying any human case of bird flu till 1130hrs, a health ministry statement said all the patients isolated at Navapur Sub District Hospital are normal and clinically clear.

Of the 95 samples being tested at the National Institute of Communicable Diseases, Delhi and National Institute of Virology Pune, 90 were tested negative on Tuesday while four more were tested negative today.

One sample is still under test and report is awaited, it added.
