MCOCA court extends police custody of chartered accountant
Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) Judge Ashok Bhangale today extended till March six, the police remand of Bharat Dudhani, a chartered accountant, arrested in connection with underworld don Chhota Rajan's wife Sujata Nikhalje's alleged involvement in an extortion case.
Prosecution sought further the police custody of Dudhani to unearth many financial dealings of Sujata Nikhalje following which the court extended the remand.
The don's wife, who was arrested on December 14 last year, went on a hunger strike in the police station on the next day and had been admitted to hospital under judicial custody. She is presently in police custody till February 28.
Six people were arrested in the case including Rajan's wife, his brother Prakash Nikhalje and their three accomplices Suresh Shinde, Harvinder Singh alias Kookoo Daruwala, Rakesh Surve and her chartered accountant Bharat Dudhani.
Barring Sujata and Dudhani all others are in judicial custody till February 28.
