Lalita Gupte, Ekta, Ela Bhatt among most powerful women

Mumbai, Feb 23 (UNI) ICICI Bank Joint Managing Director Lalita Gupte, HDFC Executive Director Renu S Karnad, ICICI Bank Executive Director Chanda Kochchar and HSBC Deputy CEO Naina Lal Kidwai figure among the list of '25 Most Powerful Women in Indian Business' compiled by the leading magazine 'Business Today'.

This annual special issue of the magazine was released by Meg Whitman, President and CEO, eBay Inc and Aroon Purie, Editor-in chief of India Today Group, at a ceremony here last night.

The issue narrates their success stories and leadership secrets and how they steadilyy built influence and rose to power through determination and sheer business acumen.

Apart from entrepreneurs and CEOs, the list also included women who derive their power from their standing as matriarchs of business families or wives of powerful CEOs.

The list also includes those women who had veered off the beaten track such as Amrita Patel, Ekta Kapoor and Ela Bhatt.
