Kerala HC notice to Lok Ayukta on Ex-Minister's plea

Kochi, Feb 23 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today issued notice to the Lok Ayukta by a special messenger on a writ petition filed by Former Health Minister K K Ramachandran.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice V K Bali and Mr Justice J B Koshy will hear detailed arguments on the petition on March one.

Mr Ramachandran submitted in his petition that the Lok Ayukta had no jurisdiction to initiate suo moto proceedings except on a petition filed in terms of Section 9 of the Lok Ayukta Act.

He contended the suo moto proceedings initiated against him by the Lok Ayukta, on certain corruption allegations concerning the Health Department, were illegal and without jurisdiction.
