EEPC wants export promotion activities out of FBT
Kolkata, Feb 22 (UNI) Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) today called for keeping export promotion activities out of the Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) net in the Union Budget for 2006-07.
EEPC Chairman Rakesh Shah told reporters that the foreign tour and travels, telephone expenses, entertainment and hospitality, sales promotion and publicity and hotels, boarding and lodging were essential for maintaining exports.
EEPC also demanded that no taxes should be exported to other countries.
Mr Shah said service tax on commission paid to foreign agents by exporters should not be taxed.
