EC team to submit report on bulk pleas of voters on Feb 27

Erode, Tamil Nadu, Feb 22 (UNI) The Election Commission (EC) Team which is verifying the veracity of bulk applications received for inclusion in voters list will submit its report to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) on February 27, an official today said.

Speaking to reporters here, Mr Varinder Kumar, one of the five team members, said the report will contain details of the verification made by it.

Mr Kumar, who verified the bulk applications received in Erode and Namakkal districts, said he will visit Salem and Dharmapuri districts tomorrow for the verification process.

The five-member team led by EC Secretary K R Prasad arrived here last night to check the veracity of 19 lakh bulk applications submitted for inclusion in the electoral rolls in different parts of Tamil Nadu.

The team which split into five groups, began its exercise by visiting 30 revenue districts in five zones of the state to undertake a field-level verification of applications and oversee the electoral roll revision process.
