Defending Champions T. Nadu beat Andhra Pradesh in Men's basketball

Kottayam, Feb 23 (UNI) Defending champions Tamil Nadu defeated Andhra Pradesh by seven points (71-64) in a thrilling encounter of the 46th South Zone National Basketball championship at Nehru Stadium here today. Score- 71-64.

The winners led 21-19 in the first quarter. In the second quarter Andhra men, through some good moves, moved ahead by 5 points to end at 38-33. In the third quarter Tamil Nadu regained the control and got a 4 points lead.

Puvaneswaran (19) and Dinesh (14) were the top scorers for the Tamil Nadu, while J Pankaj scored 11 points for Andhra Pradesh.
