City court remands one person to 14 days Judicial custody

New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) A city court today remanded a 31 year-old-man to fourteen days judicial custody for allegedly selling a piece of land and causing a huge loss to the state nine years ago by selling a plot of land using forget documents.

Patiala House Court Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Chandrasekhar remanded Sanjay Ghai, the accused to judicial custody till March 10.

The state, the complainant in this case, told the court that, Sanjay had allegedly sold a piece of land to a private party in 1997, registering of forged documents, causing a loss to the state. The state also alleged that he had agreed to pay the entire amount of Rs 3.25 lakh to an agent.

Sanjay was arrested under sections 120-B (Criminal Conspiracy), 409 (Criminal Breach of Trust by an agent), 418 (Cheating a person), 419 (Cheating by Impersonation), 420 (Cheating), 467 (Forgery of Valuable Security), 468 (Forgery for the purpose of Cheating), 471 (Using Forged documents as Genuine) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
