BIFT convention from Feb 25
Hyderabad, Feb 23 (UNI) The third annual convocation of Badruka Institute of Foreign Trade (BIFT) will be held here on February 25.
Talking to reporters here yesterday, BIFT Director Dr S K Mathur said the convocation would be held on the premises of the institution at Kachiguda.
He said BIFT had already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi, to offer two-year 'Masters Programme in International Business' (MPIB) in Hyderabad.
Since its inception in 2001, BIFT has successfully turned out 173 post-graduates, in addition to the 115 students in the current batches, he said.
''BIFT's MPIB curriculum comprises all subjects of an MBA programme of a standard B-school besides subjects oriented towards specialisation in International Business such as internatinal finance, international business negotiations, WTO, commodity trade, price and risk management and along with a foreigh language French or Spanish. We are planning to offer some more languages like Arabic, German and Chinese,'' he added.
Dr Mathur said international exposure was given to students by way of port and industry visits, and renowned faculty from international universities also visit the campus to deliver lectures and seminars.
He said BIFT was also trying to tie up with well-known international universities like Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, for rendering a short-term module in information technology and one or two universities in the UK.
He said BIFT Chairman Braj Kishore will confer the MPIB award on 59 students who passed out from the 2003-05 batch.
