Srinagar, Feb 22 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has ordered a judicial inquiry into the killing of four youths allegedly by the security forces at Handwara in the border district of Kupwara this afternoon.
An official spokesman said the Chief Minister, who had earlier this morning addressed a public meeting in Kupwara, ordered the magisterial probe into the killings.
Mr Azad has sought a thorough inquiry into the incident to ascertain the circumstances that led to the killing of four young boys at Chak Dodipora in Handwara, he added.
Expressing anguish and displeasure over the incident, the Chief Minister directed Divsional Commissioner, Kashmir Basharat Ahmed Dhar and Inspector General of Police, Kashmir K Rajendra to immediately rush to the area, the spokesman said.
