New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) A BJP member in the Lok Sabha today alleged that as many as 300 terrorists who were declared dead in Punjab were still alive, and urged the government to identify them.
Raising the issues soon after the House re-assembled after lunch recess, Mr Avinash Rai Khanna (BJP) quoted an English newspaper report and said the 300 terrorists were shown in police records as having been killed and compensation claimed from the state government.
Police officials had also allegedly bagged awards for having ''eliminated'' these terrorists, he said.
Three members of the Akali Dal also echoed the sentiments, demanding a statement from the government clarifying the identity of terrorists who were reported to have been killed by police, but were still alive.
On not getting any reply from the government, the three MPs later staged a walkout.
