United States President elect Donald Trump has been named as TIME's 2016 Person of the Year.

The TIME made the list public on Wednesday and the magazine cover reads "Donald Trump - President of the Divided States of America".

The Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is runner-up in the list.
Trump, who is set to take the Oval Office in January, was declared TIME's Person of the Year runner-up in 2015.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, singer Beyonce and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg are also in top ten along with others in the coveted list.
Last year's TIME person of the year was Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel.
TIME has been announcing this designation every year since 1927.
