Mathura gears up for Krishna Janmashtami celebrations
Mathura, Sep 4: Ahead of the joyful Krishna Janmashtami festivities starting on Saturday, security has been beefed-up in and around Mathura with intensified frisking at bus and railway station.
"The security would be ensured with the better coordination of paramilitary force and civil police at the two shrines of Sri Krishna Janmasthan", DG security Gopal Gupta, who came to assess security arrangements on the occasion of Janmastami said.

Since the concentration of pilgrims is more on the occasion of Janmastami, the administration is more watchful on the safety of two shrines at Sri Krishna Janmasthan.
"The security of the two shrines would be monitored with 10 watch towers. The entire city area including both the shrines have been divided into three Zones and 12 sectors", DM Rajesh Kumar said.
While both the shrines have been kept in red zone, the area outside the two shrines has been earmarked as yellow zone and the rest city area has been earmarked as green zone.
"Every zone would be under one senior officer of the ADM rank, the entire area would be divided into 12 sectors with magistrate and a Gazetted police officer as incharge of each sector. Also, the frisking at the bus station and railway station has been intensified", he stated.
The force requisitioned from outside has reached here, and besides local force, three Additional SP, 16 Dy.
SP, 250 SHO, 1000 constables, 50 lady sub-inspectors, 250 lady constables, two senior TSI, seven TSI, bomb disposal squad and 12 company of PAC would be deployed to ensure foolproof security.
In Mathura based Sri Krishna Janmasthan and Dwarkadheesh temple and Vrindaban based Krishna Balram temple, Shah Ji temple and Prem Mandir the Janmastami would be celebrated on 5th September, in rest of the temples of Brijbhumi, it would be celebrated on 6th September this year followed by Nand Mahotsava the next day, Gopeshwar Nath Chaturvedi, noted Hinduvadi leader said.
Radha Raman temple and Radha Damodar temple Vrindaban would become centre of attraction for pilgrims as Janmastami in these temples would be celebrated during day time.
A massive procession would also march through the main streets of Vrindaban.
"Starting from Govind Ghat after paying obeisance to Yamuna Ji, the Samuhik Nagar Sankirtan Shobha Yatra would start at 4.00 PM and terminate with mass Prasadam ceremony", the convenor of Shobha Yatra Krishna Gopalanand Deo Mahraj added.
