KJP members face a dilemma as Yeddyurappa shows signs of merger
KJP founder president BS Yeddyurappa's stand on BJP has perpelxed his followers after he showed signs of a merger, but are waiting for him to decide.
KJP party workers are a worried lot. Some of them had left their respective political parties and had joined KJP, after Yeddyurappa himself rebelled against the BJP. But now Yeddyurappa's inclination towards BJP has left his band of loyal followers who are worried about their own political career.
The news of the merger, has not gone down well with all the members of the KJP. According to some reports, MLAs have opposed the merger and want the party to retain its identity. On the other hand, there are some members, who are planning to quit the party altogether if the merger does take place.
Reports suggest that KJP may merge with NDA
The news of the merger came out in the open after Yeddyurappa's inclination towards BJP was seen post Narendra Modi's anointment as the Prime Ministerial candidate for the BJP.
According to reports, a senior KJP leader said that KJP would be a part of the NDA alliance after Narendra Modi's name was chosen as the Prime Ministerial candidate for BJP. The focus is on strenghtening the party base, he said.
