Huccha Venkat granted bail by city civil court
Bengaluru: In a relief to actor-cum-director Huccha Venkat, a city civil court agreed to grant a conditional bail to him on Wednesdy, Nov 25.
However, he is likely to remain in jail as bond money for the bail is yet to be paid by the accused. It could be recalled that he was arrested on November 19 after hurling derogatory statements against one of the builders of the constitution, Dr B R Ambedkar.

Following his incendiary remarks, a few student Dalit organisations staged protests and Bengaluru University students lodged a complaint against the self styled Huccha Venkat. After the Jnanabharati police arrested him, he was produced before the court. The court ordered judicial custody of Venkat till Dec 4.
The advocate for Huccha Venkat had filed a bail plea in a civil court here. The court on Monday, Nov 23, while hearing his bail plea, deferred the case to Wednesday. The court today, Nov 25 granted bail to Venkat on conditional basis.
