Psycho-killer Jaishankar arrested
Bangalore, Sept 6: The Bangalore City Police here on Friday have arrested the alleged notorious psycho-killer, Jaishankar, who had escaped from the city's Parappana Agrahara central prison on Sept 1.

Jaishankar who hails from Tamil Nadu is accused in more than 20 cases for rape and murder in the states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

The Bangalore City Police issued a red alert to all the police stations across the state and launched a massive manhunt ever since his escape from the prison and formed four special team to nab the notorius pyscho-killer.

The Psycho Shankar's escape had left Bangalore scared with the police even announcing a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to his arrest.

He was arrested from Kudlu Gate near Electronic city, which is 5 kms away from the city's central prison.

Karnataka Home Minister K J George and city police commissioner Auradkar has confirmed his arrest.

Earlier, the prison officials had said that he had jumped over the three-level high-security wall of the prision and the 30-foot-high main gate, under the disguise of a policeman and escaped.

The accused used clothes and ropes to climb the walls and also got injured as there were drops of blood outside the outer wall.

Three wardens, two jailors and six security guards, who were on duty when he escaped, were suspended from service.
