Friendship Test: Hallmark of new reality show on Star Plus

New Delhi, Jan 20 (UNI) The trend of Bollywood celebrities spicing up television reality shows as participants trying to outwit fellow contestants in their display of singing, dancing or comedy seems all set to continue this year.

After testing their dancing and singing abilities, the reality show wagonwheel now turns to test the "Friendship- quotient" of the television and film celebrities.

After the success of 'Jhalak Dikhla Ja' and 'Comedy Circus' on Sony, 'Jjhoom India' on Sahara NCR and 'Nach Baliye' on Star Plus, which has various celebrities vying among themselves for the title of 'Best Dancer', 'Best Dancing couple', 'Best Singing couple' to the 'Best Comedian', a television reality show featuring celebrities undergoing a 'test of friendship' in the process of selection of the celebrity couple with the best 'Friendship quotient' is being aired on Star Plus.

Continuing the process of unravelling interesting facets of lives of celebrities 'Kaho Na Yaar Hai', a show on Star plus seeks to test the "friendship quotient" of some of the Bollywood heartthrobs like Dia Mirza, Mallika Sherawat, Sonu Nigam, Ronit Roy and many others.

'Kaho Na Yaar Hai', which premiered on Star Plus on Friday, will have the Bollywood and TV celebrities and their best friends indulge in funny, mischievous and interesting games in the process of undergoing a 'test of friendhip' The Teams, comprising celebrities and their friends (primarily two) will compete among themselves by undertaking the true test of friendship. The team with the highest score will emerge as a winner.

Being produced by the Optimystix Production, a leading Asian independent content creation company with a solid track record in Advertising Films, Game Shows, Light Entertainment Shows, Bollywood Programming, Children's Programmes and Fiction Programming, its latest launch 'Kaho Na Yaar Hai' is expected to woo audience with its friendship quotient test.

It will be aired every Friday from 08hrs to 2100 hrs on the time slot of the recently-concluded celebrity dance reality show 'Nach Baliye 3'.

'Kaho Na Yaar Hai', to be anchored by well known television actor-turned-anchor Karan Patel (who has had a successfully acting stint in various Balaji shows and is also currently playing the male lead character in STAR Plus' prime time show 'Kasturi'), will test the compatibility of the celebrities with their friends with a slew of games such as physical rounds and many more, so that thier frienship equation can be evaluated in real manner.

While the inaugural episode of 'Kaho Na Yaar Hai' had the combination of Bollywood actress Malika Sherawat and the versatile singer Sonu Nigam competing with each other in the test of friendship, the second episode, to be aired on Friday, will see TV actors Ronit Roy and Gautami Kapoor, the most loved couple of a popular soap 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi,' Mihir and Tulsi , vying with each other.

Ronit will be in his bindaas style with two of his best friends, Vivek Mushran and Puneet Singh while Gautami will come with two of her close friends, Prachi Saathi and Sanaya Irani.

The first episode featuring Mallika and Sonu, where both celebrities put to test the strength of their bond of friendship through several rounds, saw Sonu emerge as a winner. The singer and his friends succeeded in proving that their friendship is unbeatable, thus surpassing Mallika and her friends in their friendship quotient.

According to sources in the star Plus, 'Kaho Na Yaar Hai' is an attempt to introduce shows with fresh and innovatice content on the prime time slot after the end of the third edition of 'Nach Baliye 3' recently.

''Kaho Na Yaar Hai' is a show which celebrates friendship in the craziest of ways. It is an entertaining mix of warmth, fun, madness, camaradeship, revelation and sheer high spirits.
