Tripura condoles death of former diplomat

Agartala, Dec 23 (UNI) Tripura Cabinet has expressed deep grief over the death of former Indian diplomat Mukur Kanti Khisha, who passed away in Madrid, Spain, on Thursday last.

Mr Khisha was 76 and is survived by his Spanish wife and two daughters.

The former Indian Foreign Service officer, who belonged to Agartala, was cremated according to Buddhist rituals on Friday.

Born to an illustrious family of the Chakma tribe in Chittagong Hill Tracts, Mr Kisha was settled in Madrid after his retirement.

He was educated at the Hare School and Presidency College in Kolkata and joined IFS in 1959.

He was the country's Ambassador to Congo, Chile, Columbia, Cuba and Argentina.
