Banerjee Club building: Govt asked to give back possession

Kochi, June 8 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today upheld a single judge's direction to the Government to give back possession of the building of the Banerjee Club, Thrissur, to the Club.

A Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice H L Dutta and Mr Justice K T Sankaran, dismissed an appeal filed by the Government against the order of the single judge in the issue of eviction proceedings initiated against the Club.

The single judge had last week directed the Government to give back possession of the building to the Club, which the Government had taken possession of stating that the Club had no valid title on the property.
