Fareeduddin to quit politics if charge proved

Hyderabad, Feb 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minorities Welfare Minister Mohd Fareeduddin today offered to resign his ministerial post and MLA seat if charges of his involvement in 'Ganja' cultivation and trading were proved.

A report in a section of the media alleged that under the Minister's 'patronage' Ganja cultivation was flourishing in his constituency and the contraband was being moved to neighbouring Maharashtra state.

Denying any involvement in the illegal activity, he told newspersons here that 'I am ready to resign as Minister, MLA and even quit politics if my involvement is proved'.

Referring to the report, he said the charges of Ganja cultivation in mandals of Kanti, Narayanpet and Nelkal were not true.

Malchalma village was not at all his native village as claimed in the report, he said, adding that he was born and brought up in Hoti (B) village.
