Kumaranalloor is an ancient cultural centre. The town is famous for Kumaranalloor Devi Temple and the annual Trikarthika festival. This place was known as ‘Thingalkkadu' before the temple came into existence. Later, it became known as ‘Indu Kananam'. In some ancient scripts, the temple is described as Mahishari Kovil.
