No lesson learnt? Will install Gauri-Ganesh in every mosque, says Yogi Adityanath
Lucknow, Feb 9: Gorakhpur MP and firebrand BJP leader Yogi Adityanath has done it again. Kicking up the fresh round of controversy, the leader said that if given chance, he will install idols of Gauri-Ganesh in every mosque.
Adityanath gave this vitriolic statement while addressing a crowd at Vishwa Hindu Parishad's 'Virat Hindu Sammelan' in Varanasi.
"Has it happened anywhere in the world that Gauri and Ganesh are inside a mosque? When Hindu samaj goes for darshan of Vishwanath then Gyanvapi mosque taunts us. If that's how it is, give us permission, we will install Gauri, Ganesh and Nandi in every mosque", BJP leader said.
Controversial leader who is known for his loose-canon approach also defended Ghar Wapsi campaign which recently created storm in political corridors. Justifying anti-conversion rhetoric , Aditynath said, "When missionaries carry out conversion by alluring innocent tribal people and dalits in the name of service to humanity why secular do forces keep quiet?".
Reportedly, he also took a swipe at the US President Barack Obama's recent comment where Obama had said that the religious "intolerance" in India would have shocked Mahatma Gandhi.
"Terrible racial violence has been seen on the roads in the US for the past many decades," he said, adding, "In India, Muslims and Christians feel free to practice their religion."
This statement has come to fore days after VHP expressed its ire over Obama's statement.
Launching a sharp attack on Obama, right wing outfit had said US President should not "preach" India on religious tolerance and instead take care of his country which is still witnessing "atrocities" against blacks.
