‘It Wasn’t His Fault’: TVK Chief And Actor Vijay’s Fans Continue To Wait Outside CBI Office

Actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay, who recently launched his political party Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Delhi on Monday. The questioning was related to the tragic Karur stampede that occurred during one of his political rallies in September last year.

The incident claimed the lives of 41 people, including women and children, while many others were injured. The CBI is investigating whether lapses in crowd management and Vijay's delayed arrival at the event played a role in the tragedy.

CBI Probes Seven-Hour Delay and Poor Crowd Control

According to reports, Vijay reached the rally venue seven hours later than scheduled. Investigators are examining whether this long delay caused restlessness among the large crowd, which eventually led to chaos and the deadly stampede.

Officials are also reviewing how the event was organized and if adequate safety measures and crowd control systems were in place. This includes checking whether the organizers had proper coordination with the local police and district administration regarding security, entry and exit points, and emergency support.

The CBI aims to determine if the stampede could have been prevented with better planning and timely communication. As of now, no direct blame has been placed on Vijay, but the agency continues to gather details from multiple witnesses and event organizers.

Fans Show Support Outside CBI Office

Meanwhile, a large number of Vijay's supporters gathered outside the CBI headquarters in Delhi, holding posters and chanting slogans in his support. Many fans said that Vijay was not responsible for the tragedy and that the local administration should have handled the crowd better.

One fan, Raju from Salem, Tamil Nadu, said, "Vijay Anna is hurt by what happened in Karur. That's why he spoke about it only after a few days. It wasn't his fault. The government should have managed the event properly. We trust him and believe he will one day become Chief Minister."

As the investigation continues, Vijay has reportedly assured full cooperation with the authorities. The CBI is expected to release a detailed report once all testimonies and evidence are reviewed.
