IndiGo Flight Evacuated In Bengaluru After Bomb Threat, Alert Turns Out To Be Hoax

Passengers on an IndiGo flight from Bengaluru to Delhi faced a tense situation on Saturday evening after a bomb threat was reported onboard.

The incident led to an emergency evacuation at the airport, though authorities later confirmed that the threat was not real.

Bomb Threat Sparks Panic on Flight

The alert was triggered when a passenger discovered a piece of tissue paper inside the aircraft's washroom. The note claimed that there was an explosive device on board.

Soon after the discovery, the information was immediately reported to the crew, who followed standard safety procedures to handle the situation.

Emergency Response and Evacuation

The pilot quickly informed Air Traffic Control, and all passengers were safely deboarded at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru.

Security agencies, including bomb disposal squads, conducted a thorough search of the aircraft. After detailed checks, no suspicious object or explosive material was found.
Authorities later confirmed that the bomb threat was a hoax.

Flight Resumes After Clearance

After the aircraft was declared safe, the flight resumed its journey later in the evening. It successfully reached Delhi without any further issues.

Meanwhile, security officials have launched an investigation to identify the person responsible for placing the note.

Rise in Hoax Threats Raises Concern

This incident comes amid a worrying rise in hoax bomb threats across the country.
Recently, Delhi Police arrested a 47-year-old man from Mysuru for allegedly sending more than 1,100 fake bomb threats to various institutions, including:

• Hospitals
• High Courts
• Government offices

The accused was traced after a detailed investigation and joint operation by Delhi Police and local authorities.

Investigation and Findings

According to officials, the accused reportedly sent hundreds of emails and made several calls threatening to target key locations.

During initial questioning, he admitted to his actions. Police also indicated that he might have been dealing with mental stress, which could have influenced his behaviour.

With such incidents increasing, security agencies across the country are on high alert. Even though many threats turn out to be false, authorities treat every alert seriously to ensure passenger safety.
