Chennai, May 16: M K Stalin, the treasurer of DMK, on Monday demanded a CBI probe into the money distribution row in Aravakurichi and Thanjavur constituencies that shook the state ahead of the elections today. Following the seize, the assembly polls in these constituencies have been postponed to May 23. Stalin further alleged that a senior minister, apart from J Jayalalithaa are involved in the incident.

Targetting the Election Commission, Stalin said that it should have taken an action long back so that the elections in these areas could be held on time. He also alleged that money was distributed in all the 234 constituencies, but the commission took action in only 2, that too after the DMK put pressure.

He further said, "It must investigate money transfer in all places because only a proper investigation will bring out the truth. "

"There is a wave against the AIADMK and it is working in favour of the DMK alliance," he said.

"Even if the ruling party indulges in any irregularities, people are clear that the AIADMK should not be given a chance to rule the state," he said.
