Anna's supporter Masood dead: Proof against indicted IPS man

Bhopal, Aug 20: A new twist emphasised the role of the indicted IPS officer Pawan Shrivastava in the murder case of Shehla Masood, a crucial supporter of Anna Hazare in Bhopal.

The news channel CNN IBN on Saturday, Aug 20 revealed a tape recorder holding an old conversation between Shrivastava and Masood. The conversation clearly unearthed the fact that the accused IPS officer had threatened Massod to withdraw some RTI application.

The media report also claimed that Masood had written to the State DGP that she feared for her life from Shrivastava.

The RTI activist was on her way to support Anna Hazare's protest campaign when she was shot dead. Police have set up five teams in Bhopal to probe into the matter.

Masood's family members fear that the police is trying to convert it into case of suicide. However, the state government issued a notice to the CBI to take over the charge of the murder case from the police.
