Chennai, Jul 19: Yet another high profile murder has surfaced from Chennai when a young woman, Nachal Chockalingam's body was found in her apartment. The person in question is a distant relative of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram. The body was found with her hands tied up and face covered with a polythene cover.

The incident came to light when the matter was reported to the Chennai police by the girls father. Nachal was aged 26 and was an employee with the local branch of Bank of America. Her body was found on Friday. It has been reported that Chidambaram called on the family on Sunday after hearing of the tragic news.

According to preliminary police investigation it has emerged that Nachal did not go to office as usual after dropping off her daughter at play school on Friday. In spite of repeated calls by her sister Barani that was unanswered, she intimated the fact to her father who was asked to check out her apartment in the Mandaveli area.

Her body was found with strangulation marks on her neck. Indicating foul play in the death, her gold bangles and chains was also missing from her person. But the police believe that this was not a murder for gain and that the missing ornaments was an attempt to derail the investigation and divert it to a different track. Her phone was also found nearby but with no SIM card. The police have already taken into custody a few persons related to the case. Further probe is on.
